Default Installing SQL Server Tools - 11-12-2009 , 01:59 PM






A user has SQL 2005 Express installed on her machine. She uses it for an
application installed locally. She wants to be able to install the business
intelligence development studio to create SRS reports. When she tries the
install, she gets a message that she's trying to install a different version
of the software.

How can we get the studio loaded on her machine?

The regular version of Report Server won't work against the Express edition
but you can install the special version for Express; see:

You could also take a look at the 2008 edition:
