How can I get an alert (an email would be fine) if the SQL
Agent stops on a remote server?

Is it possible to get a local server to monitor the remote
and email me if the SQL Agent stops (or if remote is
unreachable for whatever reason)?

Thought of using MMC with "Performance Log and Alerts"
snap-in but can't see how to monitor the SQL Agent service
for failure.
