I get this problem when a double clic on a .sln file of a SSIS project:

Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
The application for project 'C:\projects\HYD\Software
Components\Database\Code\Hydra.dtproj' is not installed.

Make sure the application for the project type (.dtproj) is installed.
---------------------------
OK Help
---------------------------

But I have correctly Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 installed on my
machine.

How this problem appears?

Development Studio console. Thus, it is recommended to open them from there
only.
