Default Automatically loading Profiler rollover files in SQL2005 - 03-30-2009 , 03:51 AM

Hi,

We have a large number of Profiler trace rollover files, that have been
generated by a server-side trace, but when loading the first file into the
GUI the subsequent files are not loading or being prompted to load?

This works fine if the files are generated by the GUI but not when they are
generated server-side. Is there any way to force Profiler to load the
sequence of files as we need to replay a long sequence of them?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Joe.

Look in the tools - Options menu for the option to load all rollover files.

Thanks for the reply, but the options are set correctly and even on the
"prompt" setting it does not ask to load the subsequent file. The first entry
on all files is the Trace Rollover event so this should work, but there is
something about the server-side trace that means that the automatic file load
is not working?

My guess is then that the files are not true rollover files and they have
been stopped and restarted instead of an actual rollover.
