Default ANN: DbOctopus Beta - advanced data editing for SQL Server - 02-21-2009 , 06:48 AM

Hi,

We've released beta version of our first SQL Server tool. I would be
grateful to anyone who can help beta test it.

It's a tool specialized for editing data in SQL Server. We made it for
our own use because we were frustrated with SSMS in such tasks.
Locating, sorting or editing data in big tables was never easy as it
could be. Also, when I'm inspecting some row, I'm often interested in
related rows in FK tables - wouldn't it be good to somehow jump to
parent or child rows in that other table? Or, when I'm changing some ID
which comes from other table, wouldn't it be helpful to just open drop
down to see list of possible values from that other table? Most of these
tasks are possible since database knows how tables are connected with FK
keys. DbOctopus was our shot on solving these problems we faced every
day while we edited data in our databases.

You can see more and download it from here:

Most interesting features:

- Navigate to related rows in another tables using relationships that
already exist in your database
- Browse and edit parent and child tables simultaneously in linked view
- Sort, Filter and Group to quickly locate your data in big tables
- Enhanced copy and paste for mutliple rows
- Export and import from XML and other external resources
- Find and replace any text in entire table - no matter in which row or
column it is
- Paging mode for big tables
- Tabbed interface
- Lightning fast - loads thousands of rows much faster than Management
Studio
- Pivot tables and charts

Thanks,
Dejan
