Default You do not have permission to update Windows XP - 03-23-2010 , 07:52 AM

Hi,

I'm trying to install the SQL 2008 client toolset on XP sp3.
I put in the CD & get a message
'SQL Server 2008 setup requires Microsoft .NET Framework and an
updated Windows Installer to be installed'.

After clicking ok, I get an 'extracting files' message and then a
Setup Error:

'You do not have permission to update Windows XP.
Please contact your system administrator'

The computer in in a domain which I'm logged into as an administrator.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Regards
Richard
