Hello:

On my Vista laptop, I have SQL 2005 Standard installed. This has never
happened before. When I try to login through my ODBC connection in Control
Panel...Admin Tools...., I get the following error:

Connection failed:
SQL State: 08001
SQL Server Error 0
Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection.

Specifcally, I get this error in the SQL Server DSN Configuration window
when I enter my "sa" password and click "Next".

Any ideas?

Here was the fix. I placed a period in the server name field of the ODBC
connection. That's all!
