Default SQLServer 2008 Enterprise Edition on Windows 2008 Standard Edition - 04-08-2010 , 07:15 AM

Are there any issues with installing SQLServer 2008 64-bit Enterprise Edition
on Windows 2008 64-bit Standard Edition? Would all the features of "SQLServer
2008 Enterprise Edition" work on this version of Windows.

To my knowledge the only issue you would have would be with clustering. You
could not have more than a two node cluster. You would also be limited by the
HW limitations of Server 2008 Standard. Other than that all features of SQL
Server will work fine. You can use these two articles to compare. Was there
anything specific you were worried about?

We will be migrating our SQLServer 2005 to SQLServer 2008 but it is going to
be a SQLServer 2008 Enterprise Edition on a Windows 2008 Standard Edition
and I was wondering if there is anything obvious that I should be worried
off.

We will not clustering the servers.
