Default SQLEXPRESS not installing full-text - 08-11-2009 , 02:17 PM

Hi,

My goal is to install AdventureWorks on a local db. I decided to
install the the version with Advanced Services from
http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/download/

However, Full-Text Search did not get installed. No service entry for
it exists in the SQL Server Configuration Manager | SQL Server
Services. The serverproperty for 'full-text installed' returns false.
I try to reinstall SQLEXPRESS and there is no option to repair or
ensure that full-text is installed. Nor can I uninstall it. It doesn't
register in Add/Remove Programs and there is no Uninstall option in
the Web Platform Installer for SQLEXPRESS.

Anyone any ideas. I have looked plenty through the web this afternoon
but no joy yet.

Regards

Liam

Liam,

As of 2005 at least, there was no graphical tool support. You have to do it
through commands.

It should all work, however, through scripting the setup.
