Default SQL version required for MSCS Clustering - 10-06-2004 , 09:45 AM

I would like to setup a two node SQL cluster using SQL standard edition,
however the install directions indicate using SQL 2000 Enterprise edition, is
the preferred method. Is is possible to setup a MS SQL cluster using the
Standard version of SQL, the cost per processor is a lot less.

Thanks in advance

Failover clustering is only available in Enterprise Edition

One of the things that you gain with the additional cost of the Enterprise
Edition of SQL Server is support for clustering. You need to use the
Enterprise Edition of SQL Server. You also need a version of Windows that
supports clustering (and SQL Server 2000 Enterprise)..
