-----Original Message----- Steve, In my experience, MS SQL server version cannot be installed to a Windows 2K Professional (or the desktop version). The installer automatically sends an error message when installing the server components to a win2K Pro and prompting the user that it will only install the client side of SQL server. Maybe other DBA can help solve this. cheers too, faiga -----Original Message----- I have a client who is considering running SQL Standard Edition on a Win2k Desktop PC for a production system. Is this allowable or do MS insist/specify/regulate that it must installed on a Server version of OS software? Any help appreciated so my I can advise my client accordingly. Cheers Steve . . |
