I am currently installing SQL2000 Developer’s Edition into my notebook which
is running XP Professional. However I encountered this error "a previous
program installation created pending file operations on the installation
machine. You must restart the computer before running setup", despite
rebooting the PC a couple of times.

Article 312995 describes deleting a PendingFileRenameOperations registry
value, but I don't have one on my machine.

Can anyone help?
