Default SQL Server Developer License & number of users - 08-10-2005 , 03:50 PM

I "discovered" a development server on our network that has SQL Server
Developer Edition installed.

According to www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/development.mspx, "SQL Server
Developer Edition is licensed per developer and must be used for designing,
developing, and testing purposes only. It is designed for organizations
that want to provide their developers with a STAND ALONE SQL Server
development environment."

The application development group purchased a single SQL Server Developer
license to house two databases on a dual processor server for development and
testing. They will be used as a backend for a client server application and
could have from 1 to 30 individual users accessing each database
simultaneously. The EULA listed on the link above is vague as compared to
the EULA for Developer Edition listed under MSDN. It states: "(ii) you may
allow an unlimited number of simultaneous connections to be made to access
the services of the Server Software." So does Developer Edition allow for
both unlimited USERS and unlimited connections or are we in violation of the
EULA in the scenario described above? Thanks!
