I am running SQL Server 7.0 on a XP box. The computer name on the XP box was inadvertently changed. Once the computer name was return to the orginal value the SQL Server 7.0 installation was corrupted. I am unable to restart the SQL Server. The error message indicates to rerun the setup. I do not have a good backup but I have the .mdf and .ldf. My concern is if I reinstall the software will my database left intact? Do I have to reinstall the software or is there a workaround? I can open Enterprise Manager. Any help would be appreciated |
