Default sql server 2008 single user mode and sqlcmd - 10-13-2009 , 12:05 PM

I need to change the erroneous location of tempdb. Sql server service
now does not start. When I start it in single user mode "net start
mssqlserver /f", it starts, but then when I try to start sqlcmd (to
correct the tempdb path) I get an error stating that the sql server is
in single user mode and Administrator cannot connect to it, and so
sqlcmd fails to start. Is there a way out of this?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Nevermind...the server agent was automatically connecting to it every
time I start it. I had to stop it first, then sqlcmd started working
again.
