Default SQL Server 2008 R2 - RTM services - 05-05-2010 , 02:46 PM

I installed the RTM Enterprise verion SQL SErver 2008 R2 on my Windows 7
Ultimate laptop today and I am unable to view the SQL Server Services within
configuration manager. I am logged into the machine with an administrator
account but only the integration services show up in the configuration
manager. I tired using the security policy editor to review the policy
settings but I get an error stating that it cannot load the snap-in in the
MMC. This laptop is only a week old and has very little software on it.

My first reaction was that this was a security issue but I have tried
several different methods for viewing the services. I enabled the default
Administrator account and tried to view the SQL Services in the Configuration
Manager and they don't show their either.

I am pulling my hair out (actually not, I don't have hair) on this one.
Please advise.

Thanks!

Chris

Is this a 64-bit computer? There is some sort of problem if you have both
32-bit and 64-bit something. It throws a WMI error. I think a search on the
error message will turn up the details, if that's it.
