Default SQL Server 2000 sp4 installs fails on 64-bit Itanium server - 11-02-2009 , 08:41 AM

We still have some legacy systems that have SQL Server 2000 installed.
Two of the systems are HP Itanium 2 64-bit Servers with SQL Server
2000 Sp3 (the RTM version) 64 bit software installed.
The servers were originally setup as Production failovers but now all
nodes (the two hardware nodes and the virtual node) are all active at
all times each running development, staging and prodcution versions of
the databases. I have been trying to install the SP4 and it fails -
with no error messages and nothing in the logs or the event logs on
the servers. Have tried breaking the cluster and installing with the
same results - fails with no error messages.

Any ideas how this can be installed?
