Default SQL Mail configuration - 07-18-2005 , 03:12 PM

I have setup a new Windows 2003 sp1 server with SQL2000 SP4. I did a
complete backup of an existing SQL2000 SP3 server (database) on 2000 server
SP4 and copied it onto the new 2003 server (it is going to replace the 2000
server ). Everything seems to be OK excpet for the SQL Mail Agent. I have
installed Outlook 2000 and created a profile called SQLMail, which I can
open, send/receive messages without problem.

My version of SQLMap70.dll is 8.00.239

When I try and configure the SQL Mail Configuration, it shows no profiles on
the drop down and I get the following error

Error 18025:xp_test_mapi_profile: failed with mail error 0x80040111

Help, I am, stumped!!

It isn't the Outlook client config that is giving me grief, it is in SQL. I
can connect with Outlook client to our Exchange server fine from the same
admin user profile and mail profile from Outlook. When I try and configure
"SQL Mail Configuratiion" and use the drop down menu beside "Profile Name"
it will not see any mail profiles. If I manually type SQLMail (the mail
profile name) and press the test button, that is when I get the error "Error
18025:xp_test_mapi_profile: failed with mail error 0x80040111".

SQL 2000 will not see any profiles I have created. I have tried both Outlook
2000 and Outlook 2002 as clients.

Got the answer, had to create the mail profile using the domain admin
account not the local admin account. The SQL services started with the
domain admin account.

Hi,

I've also faced the same problem "Error 18025:xp_test_mapi_profile:
failed with mail error 0x80040111"

But finally I got the solution and resolved.

To resolve this problem:

1. I changed Log On information of MSSQLServer from Windows Services.

2. I also changed Log On information of SQLServerAgent from Windows
Services.

To do 1 & 2 go to Windows Services window, select MSSQLSERVER and
SQLSERVERAGENT services one by one. Select Log On tab. Select "This
Account" option button instead of "Local System Account" option button.
And put my domain user acount and password as domain\userid. Domain must
be the same to which I was logged in. And lastly restarted the services.

3. Then I configured Profile information. To do this explore Control
Panel. Click on Profile icon. Removed the added email account
information and then added it again.

4. Now open Enterprise Manager of SQL and went to Database Server
Properties window. Selected Server Setting tab. Clicked on Change button
in area SQL Main and select the profile from the combo.

5. Now I went to SQL SErver Agent's propeties window and selected the
prfile name in Mail Session area.

6. Again I restarted MSSQLSERVER, SQLSERVERAGENT, Performance Log and
Alerter services from Windows Services window.

And it worked...

This might help u...

hi

Vishal has exact solution of the problem.just wanted to add one more thing
that is not necessary that you should be part of the same domain.you have to
just use same username and password for SQL logon and outlook has to be
configured in same login .say for example i logged in with username Ashok
and configure my outlook so now my sql need to start with username ashok.one
more thing it is not important to have exchange or mail server in same
domain.
