Default SQL and Exchange - 06-24-2005 , 05:55 AM

Can I run Microsoft SQL 2000 and Exchange 2003 on the same server (Windows
2003 Std) if the hardware is capable of handling the load? Is there a
Microsoft article on this?

Load requirements:
Small network 30 users.
Dual Xeon 3G with 2G RAM and 4 x72G 15,000rpm SCSI RAID 5

You certainly can do it, I'd be inclined to limit the memory SQL can use in
SQL manager though or it'll starve Exchange of resources.

You may find you need more that 2Gb RAM, depending on how much you need to
let SQL have.

I'd guess your main bottleneck might be running Exchange and SQL logs and
databases all on a single RAID 5
