I'm not sure this can be done. I tried installing it and got an error message that it wasn't compatible with this server. I can't find anything on the microsoft pages about it. SQL 6.5 requirements say nt3.51 and up. Does anyone have any info on this?? Thanks |

From: "George Hirschberger" <George_hirschberger (AT) adp (DOT) com I have installed 6.5 on windows 2000 but there is more to the story... I did the installation on a server where Windows/SQLServer 2000 were already installed. I did get the compatability message that indicated(after a click on the details tab) that the issue was with backoffice 4.0 and 4.5. I was able to complete the installation, bring up EM and create/restore a database. I am in the middle of trying to resolve other issues. The first is that I my SQLServer 2000 program group does not have the upgrade tool (which is why I install 6.5) This might be caused by the order of installs. Also even though I have a named instance of SQLServer 2000 I get errors connecting using isql. I am having the server rebuilt and will install SQLServer 6.5 then 2000. But you're right, there is no doc that I can find that helps. -----Original Message----- I'm not sure this can be done.
