Default SQL 2008 on SBS 2003 - 04-08-2010 , 06:31 PM

Hi

Have a client with SBS2003 Premium under VMWARE on one box and Terminal
Server 2003 under XEN 5.5 on another box in the same sbs 2003 domain.

Their 3rd party Database is on SQL on the SBS and they have been told
they need to move to SQL 2008 Standard shortly to support the new
version of the 3rd party software.

Can we run SQL 2008 on the SBS or upgrade the current SQL to 2008?

Cheers

You will either have to upgrade to SBS 2k8 or install SQL 2k8 on
windows server 2k3.

To purchase SQL 2008 Standard and enough CALs to go with it, you can
purchase SBS2008 Premium about four times (at my pricing anyway)!

I hope they've thought about that.

Thanks for the replies...

Do you mean April that I would load SQL 2008 on their SBS 2003 box or
their Terminal Server 2003 box?

I wouldnt have thought it such a good idea to put it on the Terminal
Server - even though they only have 4 users...
