I am encountering an installation issue during I am installing SQL Server 2008 Standard/Enterprise Edition on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. I have no problem to get through all the setup dialog boxes until I hit the section to setup user accounts for accessing different SQL services. The error, "There was an error generating the XML document. Error code 0x84B10001", suddently pops up and the whole installation is mandatory rolled back. I had tried many different ways to try to resolve it, such as killing another Setup100.exe from Task Manager, the same problem stills exists.

BTW, I have seen many posts regarding to this issue but no concrete resolution I can find. Would anyone encounter the same issue and any solution you can suggest, please let me know.

Input data: Windows server 2008 Web Edition + IIS7 +.net 3.5SP1. At
attempt of installation SQL 2008 Express permanently received such
error: (print screen)


There was it after collection of all data (paths where to instal,
customisations of a server and ò.ï). Search on the Internet has given
tens topics at forums and in news groups, on ms connect, but almost all
of them were without the answer, or concerned to early CTP SQL 2008. The
fitter started with administrator priviledges, the server has been
refreshed, even did repair for.NET – helped nothing, the error appeared
with enviable persistence.

The attention has involved the following: “Message: Access is denied”.
Means, to the manager somewhere have refused access. At once I will
mark: where exactly, I did not understand, as time for it was not, and
the server will work only in "demo" a mode, and that is short. Here also
it was now necessary working SQL 2008 express, and I have decided to
try:

1) to create the new user,
2) to add it in group of administratirs, and
3) to start installation of a server from his name.

No sooner said than done, also it is path it has appeared true – SQL
server has been successfully installed! Here such "manoeuvre" has helped
me will cope with an error.

P.S. The notice does not apply for "correctness" of solution of a
problem. It is one of possible paths. If you know other, more preferable
