Default SQL 2008 clustering on Windows 2008 R2 - 06-03-2010 , 08:22 AM

Hello,

I like to setup a SQL 2008 two node cluster on Windows 2008 R2. I prefer to
have SQL binaries installed on a shared drive (say a LUN on SAN) so that I
need just one SQL license for this project. Here are my queries:

1. Can SQL binaries be installed on a shared drive for failover? I am not
talking about data or log as I have an existing SQL cluster with data and log
on shared volumes.
2. Why can't we install SQL on shared volumes?

Thanks in advance
