Default SMS and MSDE, - 11-28-2005 , 05:25 PM

We seem to have a problem seeing the sql database on the server.
Everything appears to be working on the server side. All instances on the
server are running and working. The databases can be accessed locally (only
on the server). The server can see other instances of MSDE on client
machines and access those databases. However SQLMRG cannot see the instances
and database on the server side? Does anyone have any clue?

We have switch to windows authentication and sql and windows without
success, We have check the access my mapping drives. But everything fails

i had hope it was that simple, I had made sure the services were started,
thats what makes this so puzzling. I just can't pin point or were to look
next,

rights, are ok
services are running,
SQL manager see the local database and others on the network.
switched to windows and SQl and windows authentication,
check for viruses (just in case).
looked for a fireware software. ( to my knowlegde SMS doed not incorparate
a firewall, I'm wrong? if so were is it?')

are there any other sugestions?
