hi there, This should be a simple question for a sql guru! I need to uninstall a sql server 2005 instance leaving the other instances well alone. (its actually a backupexec instance I am looking to remove and the sever is sbs2003). I just wanted to check the procedure as if I make a mistake I don't want to think about the consequences! I have gone to add/remove programs and chosen sql server 2005. I have selected the below:- - component selection - chose (only) bkupexec - sql 2005 instance components - database engine - change or remove instance - This is where I am unsure. Should I chose "change installed components" or "remove microsoft sql server"?? As I mentioned earlier it would be a disaster if I affect the other instances - can anyone advise me on the best course of action? I appreciate any input on this. Cheers, Al |

At that point, you select remove sql server and it will remove only that instance that you selected.
