Andy,

Thanks for your reply.

I've already do that (SETUP.EXE SAPWD=myPassword)
After that, I get this message:

Windows XP Installation
Please use the control panel to install and configure system
components
OK button

I have installed the version which was shipped with Visual Studio
.NET 2002
in the past and I all I had to do was click on "setup.exe". Why
should I
specify all these parameters with this version ?

ooouuupss ! Stop !...I found my mistake: I wasn't in the good
directory
when executing the setup command !

Sorry...

Ced

Ced,
Check out the SP3README.HTM file in the setup folder
(specicifially
section
3.7.3). It has all the setup parameters defined including
setting the SA
password:
SETUP.EXE SAPWD=myPassword

Hi,

I would like to install MSDE 2000 on a new machine using
"SQL2KDeskSP3.exe"

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...milyID=a0dac7-
78-60a6-4b11-8aa8-bf12261a303a&DisplayLang=en"]http://www.microsoft.c-
om/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a0dac778-60a6-4b11-8aa8-bf12261a30-

but I have the following message when I start
installation:

Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine:
A strong SA password is required for security reasons. Please
use SAPWD
switch to supply the same. Refer to readme for more details.
Setup will
now
exit.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks,
Ced
