Default Is it possible inrstall SQL Server 2008 and 2005 in same computer - 10-07-2009 , 11:29 PM

My laptop had SQL Server 2005 Developer version and SQL Server 2008 Express
verson installed.
After uninstalled Express vesion and tried to install upgrade to Standard
version of 2008 failed.
I uninstalled SQL Server 2005 then Installed SQL Server 2008.
Every others were installed OK, But management tool failed.
I uninstall and re-install many times but result is the same.
The Management studio is very useful.
I consider reinstall 2005.

Yes, of course it is possible. I would do this:

1) wipe every trace of SQL Server *anything* from your system, using
add/remove programs.
2) install 2005, engine only, without any tools
3) install 2008 with tools
