When ever i run setup.exe , i recieves an error:

"Managed SQL server installer has encounterd a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are in middle of something. the information you were working on might
lost".


I have MS Visual studio 2008 Installed.
All the system configuration is fine.
I have already tried with re-installing the OS : Windows XP SP 2 Proff.
edition
But getting same error.

Im not getting the correct solution for this error.
Please Guide me for the same...

Next, when does happen? Directly, or do see any GUI at first?

In "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap" do you get
any files? (Replace 100 with 90 if you are installing SQL 2005).

To be honest, I don't have very high hopes that this resolvable over
a distance, but we could try...

Oh, I forgot: how did you get hold of the install media? Download? Bought
a CD? If it's a download, how did you expand it? It may be a simple as a
broken download. (Which is far simpler to resolve than something on
your machine tripping Setup.)
