Default Local System Account - 07-22-2009 , 12:00 PM

Hello:

Someone told me that, upon installing SQL Server 2005, it is not a good idea
to install with the Local System Account if you are in an enterprise
environment. Is that true? If so, why?

Does this help?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907557

Also, from Books OnLine:
--------------
Using the Local System Account
The Local System account is a highly privileged account; use caution when
assigning Local System permissions to SQL Server service accounts.

--------

And, you cannot change the role of the server (using dcpromo) from member
server to dc (or the reverse).
