Default KB955706 update - 01-08-2010 , 02:42 PM

I have a 2003 Server that has both a 32bit and 64bit SQL version installed.

I downloaded and installed KB955706 updates for the 32bit and 64bit versions
from the download center and they both install without error.

Windows Update continues to attempt to downlaod and install the KB955706
update which always fails even though the updates have installed correctly
when run manually.

Is there anyway to stop Windows Update from trying to install the update.

The install log shows all applicable items are updated an a number are
disqualified and gives a return code of 11205.

"Summary
Product instances were disqualified due to baseline build version
mismatch
Exit Code Returned: 11205"

Any help would be appreciated.

I guess that's more a question for a Windows Update forum.

But what you could try is to change the setting for Windows Update to
either "Notify but don't download", "Download, notify but do not install",
and then decline the update.

We are running WSUS and the update is being pushed from there. I don't won't
to disable the update since we have other SQL servers that have updated
properly.

I will re-post in the windows update forum.
