Default .iso file does not run - 01-05-2010 , 12:22 PM

Through WebsiteSpark, I've downloaded .iso installation files for Expression
3, Vis Studio 2008 and SQL Server Web 2008. I've copied the Expression 3 to a
CD, and the other two to a DVD.

My x86, running Windows XP Pro SP3, does not recognize the .iso files. It
opens an explorer window, and won't run the files.

My x64, running Windows XP Pro SP3 X64, won't run the DVD .iso files either.
It complains that the Expression 3 CD is the wrong platform.

Does anyone know what's wrong here?

Thanks.

Windows (all versions/editions) does not natively recognize the .iso file
format. You need to eitehr burn this to a DVD or use an ISO reader utility
to open it. Copying the ISO file is not the same as burning it to a CD or
DVD.

I have had good results with this software:
http://www.elby.ch/fun/software/index.html to read ISO files. It mounts the
ISO as a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray device on your computer.
