Default Installing SQL2008 Standard Ed on SBS2003 - 08-27-2009 , 07:12 AM

I plan to install SQL2008 Standard edition on to an SBS2003 server to
upgrade the SQL2000 server that is on there.

Should this be OK?
Should I uninstall the SQL2000 first?
Are there any other factors I should be aware of ?

Thanks in advance
Kevin

I would not uninstall SQL Server 2000 unless you're sure there are no
dependencies imposed by systems software or other applications.
Installing SS 2008 should work fine.

You should be able to upgrade the SQL Server instance, although I will need
to throw in the disclaimer that I have absolute zero knowledge of
the impact of SBS in this context. You may want to ask in an SBS forum
whether there are any caveats.
