You should see one directory per installation attempt. They are very verbose, and by no means simple to understand. Nevertheless, you may be lucky to find something in them. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel (AT) sommarskog (DOT) se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...ons/books.mspx . |

Now I found out how it works. The problem was caused by the reporting service installation. I first installed the SQL Server components and then reporting services and not all at once. In the meantime I have installed even DotNet 4.0. I'm not sure whether this has also an effect. |

Were you able to succeed with the installation now? Just so I get this right, you did this: 1) Installed Database Engine (and tools?) 2) Install DotNet 4.0. 3) Tried to add Reporting Services and this hung? -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel (AT) sommarskog (DOT) se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...ons/books.mspx . |
