The Setup starts and after a while the progress bar at install windows stuck
in the same location (i was waiting for more than one day!)
Text unter the progress bar: Install_sql_rs_Cpu64_Action

Server: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.
This is a fresh installed Server. No other software is installed!

When i shut down the installation programm i cannot start setup again.
uninstall is not psoobiel. Repair is not possible. Everithing i try to do
with the SQL Server Setup fails.
I can restore Server and start setup again -> Same problem again.

Can anyone help??

In C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log you
find the Setup logs. You should see one directory per installation
attempt. They are very verbose, and by no means simple to understand.
Nevertheless, you may be lucky to find something in them.

Now I found out how it works. The problem was caused by the reporting service
installation. I first installed the SQL Server components and then reporting
services and not all at once.
In the meantime I have installed even DotNet 4.0. I'm not sure whether this
has also an effect.

Were you able to succeed with the installation now?

Just so I get this right, you did this:

1) Installed Database Engine (and tools?)
2) Install DotNet 4.0.
3) Tried to add Reporting Services and this hung?

The installation worked now. Also Reporting Service.
Before installing Reporting Service I installed DotNet 4.0.

My first try was to install Database Engine and Reporting Service at once.
The setup was hanging while installing Reporting Service. After that it was
not possible to start the Setup again or to uninstall. I had to restore
Server from image. I tried it twice.
