Hi,

I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 Developer on my Vista
Ultimate x32 laptop. There are no errors or warnings, everything
works perfectly unti after I click "Install" at the Setup Support
File screen. The are messages showing download and install, the
"Please wait while SQL Server Server Setup processes the current
operation." screen flashes for half a second, then disappears, the
install is aborted. There are no Administative Events logged in the
Event Viewer during this process. The last lines written to
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup
Bootstrap\Log\20091203_174524\Detail_GlobalRules.t xt" are

After I deinstalled VS 2010 Beta 1 I've seen these errors
intemittently.
"aspnet_regiis.exe stopped working"
and
"Microsoft Common Language Runtime native compliler stopped working"


I don't know if these have anything to do with the install problem
with SQL Server 2008. What could be causing the abort? Where can
I find error info?
