Well, if you tell us what your problem is, we might be able to.

But there is no reason to fiddle with file extensions in the registry.

Hi,

I think you might have to tell us a bit more about what you have done and
what you want to achieve? Otherwise it might be difficult to give you any
help.

the files that ends with .mdf are not associated with the sql server 2008. i
tried to fix it from default programs and then from the registry,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.mdf and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.mdf . But still have problem

mdf files look like an other program's file. i just want to fix this, make
them look sql server's file again.

I can't see that this has any practical importance. It's not that you
open a database by double-clicking it. SQL Server will open the database
files according to the path that is stored the system catalog, no matter
what the file extension is.
