Hi All,
I am doing a fresh install of SQL Server 2008 x64 on Windows 7 x64. I
installed VS2008 first and this is working fine but I get an error in the SQL
installer "A later version of Microsoft SQL Server Compact is already
installed.". Then I downloaded and installed SP1. I still get the error. Then
I uninstalled all of the SQL components listed in Programs and Features that
were installed by Visual Studio. I still get the error. I looked on my MSDN
subscription and see that there is not an installation of SQL Server 2008 x64
that includes SP1. I am out of ideas. Please Help.

i'm with a problem on SQL SERVER 2008 installing too, i use Windows 7 x64 just like you,but my error is:

SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:

'', valor hexadecimal 0x08, ? um caractere inv?lido. Linha 1, posi??o 151.

If anyone could help, prese it's urgent
