Default failed login locally but not remotely - 02-12-2010 , 08:01 AM





I have a fresh install of SQL 2005 SP3 on a fresh Windows 2008 box. When I
attempted to login with Management Studio using a domain admin account I was
denied. "Login failed for user domain\admin"

So I tried from a remote machine using the same ID and no problem, I was
able to connect just fine. Is this an SP3 thing or have I missed something
during the install?

I also notice that if I run the management studio as administrator, I am
able to connect locally - gota love W2K8!!!
