I am unable to install Sql Server 2000 Developer Edition
onto my Windows 2000 SP 4 machine. It goes through all of
the UI and file copying fine, and then once it starts to
configure the server, it errors out with this message box:
cnfgsvr.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.
Once I click OK, it says:
Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the server
error logs and C:\WINNT\sqlstp.log for more information.
sqlstp.log ends with the following lines:
11:14:49 End Action: UpdateSystemPath
11:14:50 C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80
\Tools\Binn\cnfgsvr.exe -F "C:\WINNT\sqlstp.log" -I
SQL2000 -V 1 -M 0 -Q "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" -H
131588 -U sa -P
11:21:29 Process Exit Code: (128) There are no child
processes to wait for.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |
