Default Express upgrade to standard - 02-14-2010 , 05:07 AM

Hi

I'm currently having SQL Server 2008 Express with Adv. Services (64bit)
installed on my dev. workstation. I'm now fortunate enought to have received
a fully licensed SQL Server 2008 std. edt. and considering to upgrade my
Express. But there are certain features there that I need. So my question is
as follows:

1) Can I install SQL Server 2008 Std. side by side with my SQL Server
Express, and still have std. features on the default instance, and express
features on the.\sqlexpress instance.
2) Are there any issues with this setup?
3) Or is my only option to upgrade express to std.?

/MRW

You can run two instances of different editions on the same machine with
no problem. Note that the instances are entirely independent from each
other you cannot access databases on one instance from the other.
