Note that on a 32-bit OS, there is no (x86) in the path. And if you are installing SQL 2005, the path should be 8.0 instead. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel (AT) sommarskog (DOT) se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...ons/books.mspx |

But the installer may not be able to write to that directory if permissions have been messed up. Part of the install is run by the Installer service. Then again: MSI (s) (AC:E4) [16:21:29:385]: Executing op: SetTargetFolder(Folder=C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Fr amework\URTInstallPath_GAC \) I don't have any C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\URTInstallPath_ GAC on my machine, but maybe this is something which is created by the installer and then deleted. In any case, this is one more point to investigate. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel (AT) sommarskog (DOT) se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...ons/books.mspx |
