Default Difficulty reinstalling reporting services - 11-24-2005 , 03:14 AM

Because on initial install of SQLserver 2005 eval I somehow did not get
the management studio I needed to uninstall and reinstall - all is now
ok apart from Reporting Services.

I need to reinstall Reporting Services because I cannot login but
during uninstall I face the following error:
"The setup failed to read IIsMimeMap table. The error code is
-2147024893"
Nothing seems to help with the problem.

Advice would be appreciated

I have assumed that I do need to reinstall - currently I'm getting this
kind of error from the Reporting Services Configuration which is not
surprising as I removed and readded iis after uninstalling the rest of
sql

System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service ReportServer on
computer 'LAPTOP-02'. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The
service did not start due to a logon failure
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.Start(Stri ng[] args)
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.Start()

I had some issues with Reporting Services too during a reinstall (and
reinstall, and reinstall). Not sure we had the same problem, but I
eventually got it to work something like this:
1) uninstall RS. Think from the Add Remove programs.
2) Make sure both RS IIS nodes are removed.
3) Make sure IIS has Integrated Security on (not just Basic)
4) Reinstall RS from the setup.
If that not work, remove all SQL, remove all RS IIS web sites, make sure IIS
as integrated security, delect Microsoft SQL dir (make sure you don't delete
any DB you need, reboot, reinstall sql.
