-----Original Message----- Ok, so it is not going the easy way. All right, then let's do it the hard way:-) Use registry editor, check the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Microsoft SQL Server key. Check the InstalledInstances entry. Insert the missing instance in a separate row. For the default instance insert MSSQLServer. Refresh services in Service manager again. You should have it now. -- Dejan Sarka, SQL Server MVP FAQ from Neil & others at: http://www.sqlserverfaq.com Please reply only to the newsgroups. Dejan, Yes. I have tried to refresh the list via clicking the button. However, there are no services listed in the Drop- Down List. -----Original Message----- Have you trieed to press the "Refresh services" button in the Service Manager? -- Dejan Sarka, SQL Server MVP FAQ from Neil & others at: http://www.sqlserverfaq.com Please reply only to the newsgroups. Hello, I have 2 instances of SQL Server 2000. On the windows Task bar. The Default instance does not show the tringle in the circle indicating that it is in the start/comtinue mode, nor does it show any services. Thus, it shows that the default instance is not connected. However, My second instance does have these attributes. Although, in the MMC both instances are shown running. Thanks alot Scott . . |
