Default Could you tell me the reasons that make SQLserver fail? - 07-03-2003 , 08:02 PM

SQLSERVER2000 has installed on the windows2000 cluster system. I would
like to know how many reasons that will make the SQLserver fail,so that
I can do something to prevent the sqlserver from damage.

I want to keep the sqlserver2000 running forever!!

Coule you give me some idea??

thank you!

Its a nice idea to prevent things hapenning ... But if it is quite not possible to list down all the possible combinations ... Here is a pointer to some of the security best practices ...
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...c/SP3SEC04.ASP

If your SQL Server is facing the external world then you have to make sure to have proper firewall and other other security measures in place ....

There are a few reasons why SQL Server may go down/function incorrectly from
adding software that conflicts with it to a hardware fault.
A very good and proactive idea would be to get a subscription to Technet.
Also start to read about SQL Server and how it works.
