I am installing SSMS and client tools on my Win desktop PC where I login with my normal domain user account(Win Server 2003). I've been doing RDP to a server on the same domain which has SSMS and the SS Engine installed to do SS acivities and maintenance. I have another domain login account with full SA rights on that instance of SS that I use to login in that RDP session (Windows login) to then proceed to login to SS with Windows Auth. with same account. How do I configure SSMS or connection object on my machine to connect to the remote SS instance with the higher rights Windows account. My user account [username] appears in the Connection dialog and grayed out; I cannot change it to the SA (Windows account) and login to SS with this. NOTE: I am aware that I could setup a SQL Server user and authenticate that way, but our environment does not allow that due to security protocols. We have to work with Windows Auth. and domain accounts for SS login. This seems undoable, but I'm a Win Server and SS DBA newbie in these things so thought I'd ask. Zee - Atlanta GA |
