Hello, we have a SQL Server 2005 installation that was running it's service as a local user on it's own machine. Recently the machine got upgraded as an Active Directory domain controller and now the SQL Server Management Studio won't allow me to logon since it was using Windows Authentication mode only. How can I change it's service to run as a different windows account or even get into SQL Server? Thanks in advance. |

Hi, Check whether the account you are using to login is part of Administrator group. If not add the account to local administrator and try. Thanks Balaji, but that previous machine's local user account doesn't seem to exist and can't find it in the list? So it appears to be kind of strange how an account can just disappear like that? I am not sure how the account would have disappeared. But you could always login into the SQL Server with the domain administrator account.
