can not add group to new server

I installed SQL Server 2008 under a VMware Windows 2008 Server.

When I went to add the Administrators group to the logins under SQL
Server, I get a 15401 error. The doc suggests that there is a
duplicate SID problem or that a restart will help out. It does not.

I have been able to add a USER, but not a GROUP.

Help?
