Is AWE useful with SS 64-bit on

As Tom says, no.
Note however, that to use AWE on 32-bit systems, the service account for SQL
Server needs to have the permissions "Lock pages in memory". And this
permission is very useful on 64-bit as well, since it prevents from SQL
Server from being swapped out if a bad driver starts to steal memory in
the machine. To take benefit of this protection in Standard Edition, you
need one of the more recent CU:s.
