Default Antivirus - 11-28-2005 , 04:23 PM






I'm in the process of rebuilding our SQL Server. Is there any problems with
running our CA E-trust antivirus program on the SQL server. The server is
broken up into two partitions a C drive for the OS and the D drive for
everything else.

It may cause performance issues when it runs. But generally you want to
exclude all database files (.mdf, .ldf etc) or directories. Otherwise it
will scan each time the database is updated which is not necessary.
