Default add .NET Framework 2.0 to sql server - 04-25-2007 , 04:26 PM

I need to install Idera's SQLsafe 4.0 onto clustered production sql
servers(sql2005 enterprise, 64-bit; Window 2003 enterprise), which requires
..NET Framework 2.0 as prerequisite. I am wondering if it will cause any issue
with multiple versions of .NET Framework on the same sql server. Has anyone
done this?

Thanks.

..NET 2.0 is installed by the SQL 2005 install so should already be present
on all nodes

Okay, well there should be no issues installing .NET 2.0 on the nodes anyway
side by side with 1.1

We run SQL2000 Standard with .NET 2.0 with no problems. You should,
though, confirm with any vendors whose software uses the SQL server that
it doesn't present a problem. You should know that .NET 2.0 doesn't
*replace* .NET 1.1. They can coexist side by side.

Hank Arnold
