Default Accounts in SQL Server 2008 - 08-24-2009 , 03:05 PM

I need some guidance on the Accounts required for SQL Server 2008 and if the
accounts should be local or domain accounts. I am setting up a new Windows
2008 server with SQL Server 2008 Standard. Suggestions from the real world
Admins?

It totally depends on your needs and your environment.

For instance, if your SQL Server is going to be a member server in an Active
Directory and if it's going to have interaction (like Database Mirroring or
Log Shipping...) with other servers then it must be a domain account. If
it's going to be a stand-alone server which does not interacts with other
servers then it may be a local account.
